Daulat Bi Khan
Daulat Bi Khan is an acid-attack survivor. Her shefoughtback story started when she was only 26-years-old when her own family members threw acid on her face at home. At that time, her mother lived with her sister and brother-in-law, who weren’t treating her well. She wanted them to treat her mother better, but instead they retaliated by acidifying Daulat’s face and damaging it. She experienced a traumatic event that left her mental and physical wounds, but it did not prevent her from enjoying her life to the fullest. She underwent multiple reconstruction surgeries, and faced societal ostracisation for her changed appearance. But, giving up on life was never an option for the iron-willed lady.
Daulat stood strong and founded a NGO, ‘Acid Attack Survivor Sahas Foundation’. This is an NGO working to empower acid attack survivors. She continues to contribute to making the world a better place through this organization. They provide counseling, education and employment opportunities to acid attack victims, and empower them and helping them lead a dignified life.
